AKS TFSi Oil Pump Balance Shaft Delete Modification

Inside every TFSi EA113 engine, there is an oil pump, inside these are balance shafts. These shafts are designed to help dampen engine vibration. While the intention is good, they have brought a feature to light that can cause issues resulting in catastrophic engine failure. When the balance shafts seize in place, they will stop the oil pump from working, completely starving the engine of oil resulting in your engine being severely damaged.

In house at AKS we start off with a stock oil pump assembly, remove the balance shafts on our mill and modify the oil channels to create a far improved part over stock, eradicating the balance shafts entirely. On high power applications and forged engines this is a highly recommended modification.

There is a lot of discussion online regarding doing this modification in another way, using the old 1.8T 20V oil pumps. Doing that modification requires a lot of work including drilling and tapping oil lines into the block itself. This hassle can be avoided with the AKS balance shaft delete mod as its a simple bolt in job. Minus the worry of balance shafts ever again.

1. Send us your existing Oil Pump first and then we send you a modified pump in return

2. Pay a £600 surcharge fee and upon return of your current pump we will refund that.

Please note -

Your existing TFSI oil pump must be in full working order to qualify for either of the dropdowns, exchange or not.

We recommend to install the VIS solid sprocket with this modification. It is an option in the drop down above only in case you do not already have this part ready to install.

As this is a fully custom, machined part. We often produce these to order and as such carry a lead time. We do not always keep them pre modified in stock all the time. Please enquire for more details.
